So, I love deserts. The extreme temperatures, the way life remains determined despite environmental hardships, how nothing seems to obstruct the sun, geology, diversity, emptiness and subtlety...
Deserts have it all.
We kinda have a thing for mines too. Personally, I enjoy any abandoned or historical structures, and mines give that added mystique of being a human burrow into the earth. How much cooler can manmade stuff get? Plus, there is the added bonus of treasure-hunting, aka following veins of quartz to see if WE can spot some of the gold they dedicated their lives to extracting. They're not all gold mines of course, some are cinnabar, lead, talc, etc.
Animals are everywhere too, thought they are not always alive. I have a thing for dead things too, I guess, and I try to memorialize them by taking a pic.
I hope you enjoy!
